This artifact showcases a comprehensive group report and presentation on an HR management simulation project. Completed as part of my undergraduate Human Resources degree, this Compensation class project involved analyzing trends, making strategic HR decisions, and assessing their impact on staffing, wages, benefits, training, and overall organizational outcomes. As Assistant Team Leader, I contributed to the organization, writing, formatting, and data visualization to deliver a polished and impactful final report and presentation.
Goals
The goals of the project included:
- gaining a deeper understanding of HR management concepts such as compensation, training, and employee morale
- using simulation-based learning to make informed HR decisions and analyze their outcomes
- collaborating as a team to create a professional and cohesive report and presentation
Objectives
The primary objectives of this project were to:
- identify trends in staffing, wages, benefits, and training decisions over the course of the simulation
- evaluate the effectiveness of initial strategies and adjust them to achieve better outcomes
- present findings in a clear and professional format, highlighting the impact of strategic shifts
Outcome
The project achieved the following results:
Comprehensive Analysis
A detailed review of HR simulation trends, including reduced turnover, lower absenteeism, and improved morale and productivity.
Strategic Presentation
A visually compelling report highlighting actionable insights and recommendations for future HR decisions.
Collaborative Achievement
Strengthened teamwork and project management skills demonstrated through shared decision-making and task delegation.
Approach
Simulation
The project began with setting goals and initial strategies for staffing, wages, benefits, and training.
Over several simulation rounds, our team analyzed trends and adapted strategies to address emerging challenges. For example, we increased training budgets to improve employee safety and morale while strategically balancing wages and benefits to optimize turnover rates.
Unfortunately, simulation screenshots and examples are not available for display.
Presentation
I contributed to the organization and writing of the final presentation, ensuring it adhered to professional standards. Data trends were visualized using Microsoft Excel, and the presentation was created in PowerPoint with animation and transitions to engage the audience. Notes and prompts were used during the live presentation to maintain a consistent delivery.
